Knoxville Police to launch Real Time Information Center, allowing officers to increase response time

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Local innovators, artists and community leaders joined a “pitch-and-listen” learning session at the Mill and Mine.

On Thursday, one presentation was centered on the Knoxville Police Department’s new Real Time Information Center, which will allow officers to respond to calls faster and with more information.

With the new information center, when a 9-1-1 call is made, operators will be able to access cameras throughout the city before an officer arrives on scene and start gathering information…
