Tragedy struck on a Sacramento road as a father of five, Bee Lao, age 46, was killed after being hit by a car last Sunday evening. The KCRA reported that the incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Del Paso Boulevard and Marysville Boulevard. Responding officers found Lao down in the roadway, and despite immediate attention, he could not be saved.
Sacramento police, who are continuing their investigation into the accident, initially believed that Lao may have been hit by two vehicles, suggesting that the first may have fled the scene. However, subsequent findings indicated that there was only one vehicle involved. The driver of this vehicle remained at the scene after the accident occurred, and was not suspected of impairment due to drugs or alcohol, as stated by KCRA.
Lao leaves behind a family in mourning. His wife, Stella Xiong, has to cope with not only the sudden loss but also the future of her children, ranging from a 2-year-old son to daughters aged 5 to 14. Xiong described her late husband as a “loving person who was always welcoming to everyone” in a FOX40 interview.
