SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse common council met on Thursday, November 6, to discuss an alternative incarceration program for the city’s youth.
They plan to work with Exalt, an organization that works to inspire and support youth who have been involved with the criminal justice system. Leaders from Exalt say the new program will connect young people with internships and professional opportunities, rather than incarceration. Citing that there’s still potential in the younger generation.
