DES MOINES, Iowa — There is a first of its kind art exhibit at Drake University. “I AM A MULTITUDE” is an experience created by artist, advocate, and Drake alumna Jill Wells. The exhibit is supported by Drake with an exhibition catalog and braille labels completed by the Iowa Department for the Blind. Samantha Mesa walked with Wells through the exhibit and learned how she hopes people will find healing through her art.
At first glance walking into the exhibit at the Harmon Fine Arts Center, art viewers will see butterflies on the walls in what looks like the Great Migration.
“They’re a little cryptic in the way that you wouldn’t know necessarily what it is or the patterns that they’re following until you get back here in the other side of the exhibit,” Wells explained…
