Albuquerque’s first dual-language school celebrates 50 years

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque’s first dual-language school is celebrating its 50th anniversary on Friday.

Dolores Gonzales Elementary School in Barelas will host its anniversary celebration and fall fest from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the school.

Nearly 60 APS schools have some type of dual-language program, reaching more than 10 thousand students every year. School leaders at Dolores Gonzales Elementary are proud to say it started with them…
