Free Nevada Museum of Art Admission for WNC Students Begins Next Month

Starting in November 2025, students at Western Nevada College (WNC) will receive free admission to the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno. This is made possible by a donation from the late Wayne Prim and his foundation. The program will give WNC students the same access as students from the University of Nevada, Reno and Truckee Meadows Community College.

WNC President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe said the partnership will help students experience art, history, and culture outside the classroom. The Nevada Museum of Art hosts exhibitions such as ‘Deep Time: Sea Dragons of Nevada,’ ‘The Art of Judith Lowry,’ and ‘Dorothea Lange: Seeing People.’

Students will also have access to live performances, monthly First Thursday events, Art Bite Fridays, and the Institute for Art + Environment’s research facilities. Museum CEO David B. Walker said the partnership supports learning and access for students in Northern Nevada…
