Diocese leader retired following complaint against him from Mt. Pleasant church

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) – St. Andrews Church in Mount Pleasant has confirmed that its rector, who served as bishop of the Diocese of the Carolinas, has retired.

Rev. Canon Randy Forrester confirmed in a video that Archbishop Steve Wood, who had been the rector of St. Andrews Church since 2000, had decided to retire before the allegations were released.

“We can confirm that Steve Wood notified our Senior Warden in September of his intention to transition leadership and retire as Rector of St. Andrew’s as his duties as Archbishop were fully consuming. The timing of the recent allegations moved that timetable forward slightly, yet the decision itself had already been made,” Forrester said…
