Measles outbreak continues in Spartanburg County with another new case reported

The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) has identified one new case of measles in Spartanburg County, bringing the total number of cases in the ongoing outbreak to 35.

In a Nov. 7 update, DPH officials said they are investigating “possible exposures.”

When the outbreak began more than a month ago, DPH worked with school administrators at Fairforest Elementary School and Global Academy of South Carolina charter school to quarantine students who were infected with measles or were likely exposed to the virus…
