Crime reduction team took two men with felonies into custody after seeing them with guns

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A crime reduction team took two men with felonies into custody after they were seen carrying guns.

While patrolling West KL Avenue near South Drake Road on Monday, members of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) and Crime Reduction Team (CRT) said they arrested a 27-year-old Kalamazoo man and a 45-year-old Kalamazoo man, both with felony records, after observing them with guns.

They first noticed the 27-year-old concealing his gun in his waistband while in a parking lot before getting into a vehicle. Since they knew him to be a convicted felon, they made contact and arrested him without incident…
