Former exotic dancer at Wonderland alleges violations of wage laws in federal lawsuit

A federal lawsuit filed on behalf of a Massachusetts woman who is a former exotic dancer and former server at Wonderland Gentlemen’s Club in Providence seeks unpaid wages and other compensation, alleging violations of fair labor and minimum wage laws.

The lawsuit accuses Wonderland of misclassifying exotic dancers as independent contractors rather than employees.

“In doing so, Defendants failed to pay exotic dancers a base wage, and have required the exotic dancers to pay illegal fees, fines and tip-outs as a condition of their employment,” the complaint states…
