Trial Date Set: Chando’s Tacos owner faces jury trial in January 2026

(FOX40.COM) — A jury trial date has been set for Jan. 20, 2026, in the case against Lisandro Madrigal, the owner of Sacramento’s taco chain Chando’s Tacos. That date could be dropped if Madrigal opts to seek mental health services, according to Judge Peter Williams. A decision for that is expected on Jan. 8, 2026.

The taco chain owner entered a not guilty plea to two felony domestic violence charges in court on July 31, just two days after he abruptly shut the doors of all his Sacramento-area restaurant locations.
