Superior Court of San Joaquin County says ‘unauthorized person’ accessed personal information in cybersecurity incident

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. — The Superior Court of San Joaquin said that it experienced a cybersecurity incident last year during which personal information was leaked.

Officials said an unauthorized person accessed court systems from Oct. 25-30, 2024, and copied certain files.

The court said personal data exposed includes names combined with one or more of the following:

  • Social security numbers
  • Driver’s license/California ID numbers
  • Tax identification numbers
  • Passport numbers
  • Military identification numbers
  • Bank account information
  • Credit or debit numbers
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information

“The Superior Court reminds individuals that it is always a good idea to be vigilant for incidents of fraud or identity theft by reviewing account statements and free credit reports for any unauthorized activity,” San Joaquin County Superior Court said in a press release…
