1 dead, 2 seriously injured in wrongway Thruway crash

WESTMORELAND — The driver of a Jeep that headed the wrong way on the Thruway died Friday morning in a crash with an oncoming vehicle, State Police said.

The driver was later identified as 35-year-old Quinntin Walker of Ithaca, according to a news release from State Police.

The driver and a passenger in a Ford pickup were badly injured in the wreck that happened in Oneida County. The driver of the pickup, a 47-year-old man from Fulton, is in a medically induced coma at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, State Police said. The passenger, a 46-year-old man from Syracuse, is conscious but remains in critical condition at the same hospital…
