STURBRIDGE, Mass. — Missing for nearly 50 days, Lady is now home safe and sound.
Her owners David and Carrie Bell are originally from Maine. They live in Ohio now and had a scary experience at a Massachusetts campground on their way home.

- Lady, an 8-year-old mixed breed dog from Ohio, went missing on Sept. 8 while her family was traveling through Massachusetts from Maine to Ohio
- Owners David and Carrie Bell contacted Animal Control who reached out to Missing Dogs Massachusetts to assist with the search around Thousand Trails Campground
- Lady was caught on Oct. 23 using strategically placed feeding spots and trail cameras
- The Bells said Lady is a rescue who they are working to socialize more, but is naturally afraid of humans due to her past. Missing Dogs Massachusetts recommends a ‘martingale’ collar for reactive dogs
“We were on our way back from visiting family back up in Maine when we stopped in Sturbridge, Mass. And, with the dogs for a night. And that’s when we lost Lady,” David Bell said. “Something spooked her and she slipped out of her collar. And then it was pitch black and she took off.”…
