Top Chinese restaurant in San Antonio announces immediate and sudden closure

One of San Antonio’s top Chinese restaurants has announced that it will immediately cease operations as the team behind the concept looks to future endeavors, according to an Instagram post that went live on Friday, November 7.

Dashi Sichuan Kitchen + Bar has officially closed after a four-year run on San Antonio’s Northside. Founder and chef Kristina Zhao opened the restaurant with her team in 2021, focusing on a more contemporary dining experience than Dashi’s sister restaurant, Sichuan House.

“With a heart full of love and profound gratitude, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to cease operations at Dashi Chinese Kitchen + Bar, effective immediately,” the business wrote in its farewell post. “To our loyal guests: Thank you for embracing Dashi, filling our dining room with energy, and exploring new culinary horizons alongside us.”
