Report: No reason for city to expect deadly flooding on Beitel Creek

A city-commissioned report from an engineering firm says there was no reason for San Antonio or state officials to expect the deadly Beitel Creek flooding in June, but calls for elevating the Loop 410 frontage road that flooded, along with improving warning systems and better planning.

Eleven people died when their cars were swept into Beitel Creek in the early morning hours of June 12, along with two others who died in floodwaters elsewhere in the city.
