LYON COUNTY – A Lyon County jury has found 38-year-old Shaun Joseph Benward guilty of multiple felonies after prosecutors said he ran a years-long casino fraud operation at Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood. The verdict was handed down Thursday, November 6, 2025.
According to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s Special Enforcement Operations Bureau (SEOB), the investigation into Benward began in 2018 after agents and casino staff witnessed him carrying out fraudulent transactions at Grand Falls Casino.
