ENGLEWOOD — Jeremy Martin, a longtime area coach and community volunteer, had a recent brush with death after suffering a “widowmaker” heart attack while alone at his hurricane-damaged home.
Martin, a local businessman and former Venice High girls basketball coach, was working to restore his home on Little Gasparilla Island, a barrier island off Placida in western Charlotte County, when he began experiencing chest pain and indigestion, HCA Florida Englewood Hospital reported.
