$320k of Apple items recovered after being stolen in Cumberland County, 6 charged

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Apple products were recovered after being stolen from a tractor-trailer in Cumberland County, according to police.

Court documents filed by Middlesex Township Police show six people allegedly stopped, opened the back of a tractor-trailer along S. Middlesex Road, and stole Apple products out of it just after 8:30 on Oct. 30.

The six people listed below face charges of theft and conspiracy:

  • Guillermo Cavero, of no known address
  • 22-year-old Josue Penafiel-Murillo, of no known address
  • 38-year-old Isreal Hernandez, of no known address
  • 25-year-old Justin Largo, of California
  • 39-year-old Miguel Oyola-Coronel, of no known address
  • 40-year-old Jose Rivera, of California

Police said they were aware of an ongoing investigation into an organized cargo theft ring that specifically targeted Apple products. Tracking devices were also already placed on the two involved vehicles, a Ford transit van and a Kia, by police because they were used together in prior thefts…
