Piedmont opens Georgia’s first early detection pancreatic cancer clinic

ATLANTA — Piedmont Oncology launched Georgia’s first stand-alone Early Detection Pancreatic Cancer Clinic on Friday at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

The clinic will provide risk assessments, increase awareness, and facilitate research for pancreatic cancer. The highly aggressive malignancy has a five-year survival rate of just 13%. It is projected to become the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States by 2026, according to the American Cancer Society.
