Task force captures man accused of killing woman at party

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A gang member accused of accidentally killing a woman at a house party in March was captured by the Memphis Safe Task Force on Friday.

Demarius Chalmers, 19, was taken into custody at 5:45 a.m. in the 2800 block of Vayu Drive. He is charged with felony reckless homicide.

The U.S. Department of Justice said Chalmers, a member of the Crips gang, pulled out a gun at a party March 13.
