PRICHARD, AL – Charles Henderson High trailed by only three points at halftime, but the No. 3 team in AHSAA Class 5A proved to be too explosive in the final two quarters, as Vigor High claimed a 40-16 win over CHHS in the first round of the state playoffs Friday evening in Prichard, just north of Mobile.
CHHS scored just before the half to make it 19-16 Vigor, but the Wolves reeled off 21 unanswered points in the second half to pull away and advance to the second round.
