Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida, is observing Veterans Day 2025 by highlighting its support for military-connected students. The college serves over 400 student veterans and military family members enrolled for the Fall 2025 semester. In total, more than 1,300 such students have received support throughout the year. Indian River State College has been named a Florida Collegiate Purple Star Campus and a Gold Status Military Friendly® School for 2025-2026.
Dr. Timothy E. Moore, the college’s president and an Army veteran, said that supporting veterans is a daily focus at the college. He stated that the college aims to provide a welcoming environment, personalized resources, and programs to help veterans succeed academically and adjust to civilian life.
The Military and Veterans Service Department, located in the Veterans Center of Excellence, is central to these efforts. The center offers services such as admissions assistance, VA benefits certification, academic advising, and financial support.
