The Aransas County Navigation District (ACND) Commission approved the creation of a Food Truck Park at Rockport Harbor at their most recent meeting, conditional upon receiving necessary city permits. The location will be along Navigation Circle, using existing parking areas adjacent to the ACND statue garden and the Rockport Center for the Arts.
The plan calls for four utility hookups at the north end of the sculpture garden. Four vendors have committed to the site: Mobile Eats, Spice Magic, Gabrielas, and Italian Pizza. The plan also anticipates space for concessionaires, such as a bicycle rental service.
The commission approved option 2 for financing, requiring the district to pay approximately $15,000 upfront for setup costs. Under this option, the district will charge vendors the full rent of $400 per month, which includes a $250 base fee and $150 for estimated maximum electrical usage.
