Lubbock man sentenced for threatening to kill Secret Service agents

LUBBOCK, Texas — Tristan Rene Langston has been sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for threatening to kill Secret Service agents and their families.

As previously reported by EverythingLubbock.com, in February 2025 Langston faced a federal charge for the threats that Langston posted to his social media accounts. The Secret Service originally encountered Langston in 2023 after he “posted threats” against former President Barack Obama, which agents determined were “idle.”

After the encounter with Secret Service, court documents showed Langston sent emails to the Secret Service about various crimes and conspiracy theories.
