San Antonio officer charged after allegedly placing tracker on estranged wife’s car

A San Antonio police officer who turned himself in to authorities had allegedly placed a tracker on his estranged wife’s vehicle.

Officer Richard Boyle was charged Wednesday with unlawful installation of a tracking device, according to Bexar County court records. He posted a $3,500 bond and was released the same day.

An affidavit supporting Boyle’s arrest reveals that Boyle’s wife had moved out and was initially driving a Cadillac that belonged to Boyle. She found out that Boyle had been monitoring the Cadillac’s location using the OnStar function and returned the Cadillac to him…
