ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The City School District of Albany will be postponing the implementation of new security systems at the high school. Public meetings have been scheduled in an effort to facilitate community discussion about the plans.

The school district had reportedly planned to launch new walk-through and bag scanners beginning on Wednesday, November 12, at Albany High. According to school officials, the new technology promised more efficient entry into the school.
However, in an announcement posted online on Friday, the district said that it will be delaying the installation of the new security systems, stating that they “moved a little too quickly” with its plans. Now, the high school is scheduling several public presentations where families can ask questions or discuss concerns.

Both parents and students are encouraged to attend one of the meetings.
