STERLING, Va. (DC News Now) — At Gwen Thompson Briar Patch Park in Sterling, a simple act of generosity is making a big difference. It’s called the Kindness Bar, a plastic bin filled with canned goods, snacks, and toiletries, free for anyone who needs them.
The idea came from two furloughed workers and one of their sons, Chase Haggans, who wanted to help others during difficult times.
