PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A warm front is poised to cross the Piedmont today, pushing temperatures into the upper-60s this afternoon. We will see clouds increasing today and there is a slim chance of light showers after midnight tonight. Lows will be in the lower-50s and the chance of rain is 20%.
Over the weekend, we will have superb weather to enjoy! Though skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, high temperatures will rise into the lower-70s, which is well above normal. We have another slim chance of rain, 20%, Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
A powerful cold front will sweep across the state late Sunday, blasting the Piedmont with cold, Arctic air. Highs on Monday and Tuesday will hover in the mid- to upper-40s. Low temperatures on Monday night will plunge into the upper-20s in the Triad, and lower-to-mid-20s in outlying communities. It will be partly cloudy on Monday and quite sunny on Tuesday.
The really good news is that we will only deal with the super cold weather for a couple of days. By Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will be warming back to the lower-to-mid-60s. We will stay dry, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies…
