A local Marin County man, Denni Rodas Diaz, has been sentenced to jail time and probation following a conviction for auto insurance fraud. Rodas Diaz, 33, entered a guilty plea to two felony charges under Penal Code section 550(a)(4), which deals with knowingly filing a false insurance claim, according to a statement from the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.
The case, which emerged following a meticulous investigation by an insurance company, revealed that between 2021 and 2023, Rodas Diaz had repeatedly filed claims for pre-existing vehicle damage and orchestrated sham accidents to deceive the insurer.
