FREMONT – With an airplane, a helicopter, drones and K9 units in pursuit, the driver of a car that fled the Ohio Highway Patrol Oct. 6 on the Ohio Turnpike was still at large Friday morning. But one passenger was captured and several types of drugs were found.
“Based on information about the individual, we do not believe the suspect is in the area. We do not believe there is a danger to the public,” Lt. Nathan Henn said.
The chase started with an attempted routine traffic stop by a Fremont Post Highway Patrol Trooper and K9 partner at 2 p.m. on Oct. 6. A Hyundai Kona made an unsafe lane change near the 81-mile marker on the Ohio Turnpike. The suspect then fled eastbound at a high rate of speed…
