Madison College will celebrate Hmong heritage, family, and tradition at its annual Hmong New Year Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 6. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Truax Campus Cafeteria Atrium, Room D1630, and Redsten Gymnasium.
Guests will experience a vibrant day of Hmong music, dance, food, art and community, featuring local food vendors, an arts and crafts marketplace, children’s activity stations, and community resource tables.
“As we celebrate 50 years of the Hmong journey in America, we’re reminded that our stories, traditions, and values continue to strengthen the Hmong community here in Madison and across Wisconsin,” said Masaya Xiong, co-chair of the Madison College Hmong New Year Celebration, in a press release announcing the event. “Education has opened doors, inspired growth, and created new opportunities for Hmong families.
