Wichita to begin construction along Museum Boulevard for Hess Reservoir project

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Construction starts next week along Museum Boulevard in Riverside.

The City of Wichita said lane closures would begin Friday for the Hess Reservoir and Pump Station project.

The area just west of the Mid-American All-Indian Museum had served for decades as a pair of parking lot for the museum and for other events and activities in Riverside. But in 2018, cracks were found in the water tanks underground, among other problems.

In 2019, an engineer determined that the structures were still in good condition, but the city decided that the tanks could no longer support the weight of vehicles…
