New 25-acre Willow Bend Park set to boost recreation and nature access in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. — The City of Eugene Parks and Open Space Division has announced the upcoming expansion of the city’s public parks system with the addition of Willow Bend Park, a new 25-acre community park set to open later this month.

Located west of John Day Drive on land formerly part of the River Ridge Golf Course, Willow Bend Park will offer nearby neighborhoods improved access to nature, recreation, and outdoor gathering spaces, said the City in a press release.

The city says park improvements will include a paved parking lot, a half-basketball court, walking paths, pedestrian access to the river, and acres of open grassy fields and mature trees…
