On November 7, 2025, Rosa Victalina Hitzfeld, a 60-year-old Portland resident, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. She pleaded guilty to several charges related to a fatal DUI crash. Hitzfeld had two previous DUII convictions and one prior diversion. She admitted to Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second and Third Degrees, and Driving Under the Influence of an Intoxicant.
The crash happened on October 13, 2024. Hitzfeld had a blood alcohol level of about 0.18. She drove the wrong way on Fairview Parkway after turning from Glisan Street.
