KINGSTOWNE, Va. — Every Friday starting at 7 a.m., you can find Abraham Walker with a group of fathers at the Panera in Kingstowne. Even for a few hours, the weekly meetup group is an opportunity for community. Amid the government shutdown, it has also become a saving grace.
Walker started DMV Dads Group in 2018 to connect with other fathers in the Kingstowne area. Modeled after the meetups he witnessed growing up in New Orleans, Walker specifically wanted the sessions for fathers to relax.
