Whoville Reunion! Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen Share Red Carpet Moment 25 Years After “The Grinch”

Los Angeles, CA – It was a heartwarming blast from the past at the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony this past Saturday, November 8th, as Jim Carrey, 63, and Taylor Momsen, 32, reunited nearly 25 years after starring together in the beloved holiday film How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The duo, who played the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who respectively, posed for photos on the red carpet at the Peacock Theater, much to the delight of fans and photographers.

Momsen, now a seasoned musician, exuded rockstar chic in a black dress with lace accents, a daring leg slit, and a black leather coat. She completed her look with calf-high black boots, layered necklaces, and dramatic dark eye makeup. Carrey, ever the individualist, sported a black graphic T-shirt under a black-and-white striped blazer, paired with black dress pants and dress shoes.

“We haven’t seen each other since the Grinch. Twenty-five!” Momsen excitedly told reporters on the red carpet, a sentiment echoed across social media as images of the reunion quickly circulated.

Both Carrey and Momsen were on hand to celebrate the induction of Soundgarden into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Carrey, who hosted Saturday Night Live when Soundgarden was the musical guest in 1996, delivered a tribute to officially induct the band. Momsen, whose band Pretty Reckless opened for Soundgarden’s final tour, joined musical heavyweights Brandi Carlile, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, and Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell for powerful performances of “Rusty Cage” and “Black Hole Sun.”

Momsen recently reflected on her early acting days as Cindy Lou Who, telling the Call Her Daddy podcast on November 5th that she “didn’t know who Jim was until the premiere.” She also shared that Carrey, even in full Grinch makeup, was never a scary figure to her. “To me, he was always Jim, and he was always in makeup,” she explained.

For those eager to relive the magic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas will return to select theaters for a limited engagement on December 12th to commemorate its 25th anniversary. The film is also available for streaming on Peacock and Prime Video.
