A woman was found shot to death early Friday on San Antonio’s East Side, just feet from the IDEA Carver charter campus, according to police. A passerby discovered her in front of a residence, and San Antonio Fire Department paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Homicide detectives responded as officers secured the block and began collecting evidence.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, a 911 caller reported a woman lying in front of a home shortly after 5 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of Center Street. Officers arrived to find her unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound, and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
