Sunday Morning Update: Good Sunday morning! We’re waking up to mild temperatures in the 60s and some patchy fog. Visibilities are limited in some spots, so exercise extra caution if hitting the roads during the next few hours. For the rest of the day, we’re looking at partly cloudy skies and one last warm day with high temps near 80. As a strong cold front moves across the area, a few showers and storms may fire up south of I-20. Our southeastern most counties are under a marginal risk for severe weather with the main threats being damaging winds and small hail.
Behind the cold front, arctic air will rush in with blustery winds Sunday night. Wind gusts up to 25mph expected for Sunday with even higher winds on Monday. The combination of the colder air and high winds will give us wind chills or “real feel” temperatures WAY below average. Monday night- Tuesday morning we are under a freeze watch with air temps in the 20s! Brace yourselves for the BRRR!…..
