With below-freezing temperatures looming, Nashville’s Office of Homeless Services has announced it will open the city’s emergency overflow shelter overnight Nov. 9 and 10.
The cold weather shelter at 3230 Brick Church Pike opens any time temperatures reach 32 degrees or below for three consecutive hours, the office says. That’ll be the case throughout the next two nights, when overnight lows will be below 30 degrees. The shelter will remain open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. both days.
The city’s emergency overflow shelter is available to adults over 18, with capacity for dogs in kennels, but the office encouraged people who need a warm place to sleep to seek primary shelters as a first option. That includes Room In The Inn, the Nashville Rescue Mission, Launch Pad and Oasis…
