Rhode Island pilots effort to help unpaid air traffic controllers

WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — The Rhode Island Pilots Association is stepping up to help local air traffic controllers as the government shutdown stretches on.

They’re raising money to buy 20-dollar gift cards to present in bulk to roughly 39 air traffic controllers and their families.

Those controllers have been working now without pay for more than a month.
