Employee Fatally Shoots Himself at New York Prison

The New York State Police have announced that a 55-year-old Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) employee has died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at a New York Prison.

According to a New York State Police (NYSP) press release, an investigation is underway after a 55-year-old DOCCS employee was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday morning.

Police said that on November 7th, 2025, at approximately 8:05 a.m., it was reported that 55-year-old Abdalla Hadian entered an administrative building at the Marcy Correctional Facility in the Town of Marcy, NY, and took his own life.

Prison Employees Witness Suicide

Hadian, a civilian Imam, reportedly shot himself in front of staff members with a gun he brought into the Oneida County, NY facility, according to police.

A post on the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision’s Facebook page stated that staff immediately began life-saving measures, but due to the injuries, Hadian, who had recently returned to work following a medical leave, couldn’t be saved…
