Illinois State Police investigators arrested a 29-year-old Chicago man less than a day after a road rage shooting was reported on the Stevenson Expressway this week, officials said.
Bowen Zhang is charged with attempted murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm in connection with the November 5 incident on northbound Interstate 55 near California Avenue, according to ISP.
The agency said a road rage confrontation on the expressway escalated when Zhang fired multiple shots at the car, striking it several times. The other driver was not injured and reported the shooting later that day.
ISP special agents identified both the gunman’s vehicle and Zhang as the alleged shooter within 24 hours of receiving the report, according to the agency’s press release. They arrested Zhang on November 6…
