Local Residents Urged to Prepare Homes and Vehicles for Upcoming Freezing Temperatures

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) in Pearl is advising residents to prepare for freezing temperatures this week. The National Weather Service forecasts freezing conditions from Sunday night into Monday morning. A more severe freeze is expected from Monday night through Tuesday morning. Most of Mississippi will see temperatures fall below freezing.

MEMA recommends several steps to prepare homes for winter. These include storing dry firewood, insulating walls and attics, sealing doors and windows, and protecting pipes from freezing.
