Olathe woman injured after kayak capsizes on Truman Lake

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A 45-year-old Olathe woman was injured when her kayak capsized on Truman Lake over the weekend.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened at around 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, about two miles south of Sparrow Foot Boat Ramp.

A report says that the woman was kayaking when she was overcome by wind and waves. Her kayak capsized, ejecting her into the water. She then got to the nearest shoreline before being taken by EMS to a nearby hospital…
