It’s not often that you hear a salad described as a sensation. We love a good salad, but so often they’re an afterthought, a simple side or healthy lunch option that doesn’t get the care or attention they deserve.
Not this recipe. A zesty Baton Rouge favorite, the Sensation Salad is our new favorite way to eat our greens. It just might become your favorite, too.
What Is Sensation Salad?
The star of this simple salad is the cheese dressing. Made with a full cup of grated Romano, plus oil for body, lemon juice for brightness, and a little garlic, the dressing is like an easier version of a Caesar dressing.
It’s also lighter than a classic Caesar, packing in lots of zesty flavor without being as rich. Served over a mix of greens (we use tender Bibb lettuce, fresh parsley, and peppery watercress), what is a fairly simple combination of ingredients boasts tons of tangy and savory flavor, plus varied textures.
