On November 7, 2025, Houston police announced the arrest of Gabriel Isaiah Menefee, 23. He is charged with the shooting death of Jaylon Ward, 25, at a hotel at 2451 Hayes Road. The incident happened around 3:15 a.m. on November 2. Officers responded to a shooting call and found Ward dead from a gunshot wound in a hotel room.
