EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso County will be unveiling a newly renovated playground, in a continued effort to “improve quality of life and promote social equity.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for Sparks Park Playground will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 12899 Sparks Dr.
Sparks Park Playground is 5,700 square feet, the largest in the Sparks and Mission Ridge communities. The playground features a 20-foot-high tower, three swing bays, climbing features, shade structures and a combination of rubber and engineered wood surfacing to ensure fun and safety for kids, according to a news release by the County.
The project was funded through a grant in 2021 and is a broader County initiative to invest in park improvements across five Colonia areas, which include Gallegos, Westway, Auga Dulce, Estrella and Sparks…
