Multiple events planned to mark Veterans Day 2025

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – There are multiple events planned to mark Veterans Day 2025 in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas.

Below is a list of some of the events taking place:

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9

  • Gonzales Veterans Day Parade: Gonzales is hosting its Veterans Parade at 2 p.m. The parade is expected to travel along Irma Boulevard, Worthy Road, Burnside Avenue, and Cornerview Street.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11

  • Zachary Veterans Day: Zachary is hosting its annual Veterans Day flag-raising ceremony and parade. The ceremony will take place at 7:30 a.m. at the Regional Veterans Park behind Lane Regional Medical Center. The parade will take place at 9 a.m. and will travel from the Bank of Zachary down Main Street and then to Zachary High School. Highlights of the parade will include the Zachary High School ROTC Marching Drill Team and antique and classic cars.
  • Ascension Parish Veterans Day Ceremony: Ascension Parish will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Ascension Parish Veterans Memorial Park, which is located at 612 South Irma Boulevard. The guest speaker for the ceremony will by the Undersecretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, John C. Phillips, LCDR, USN (Retired).
  • Iberville Parish Veterans Day Ceremony: Iberville Parish is planning a Salute to Veterans from 10 a.m. to noon at the Iberville Veterans Memorial, which is located at 23640 Railroad Avenue in Plaquemine. The celebration will feature guest speaker Lionel Joseph, a U.S. Army and Louisiana Army National Guard veteran and the current District 3 councilman for Tangipahoa Parish. In addition to honoring the more than 2,000 veterans recognized on the Iberville Wall of Veterans, this year’s event will also commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, Marine Corps, and Navy.
