KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Cold temperatures and gusty winds make for a frigid rest of our Sunday. Despite increasing sunshine, we will only warm up to the mid-30s this afternoon. Wind gusts up to 30 mph will hold feel-like temperatures in the 20s.
With all of this in mind, you will need a thick jacket and layers no matter where your Sunday plans take you.
Winds will try to relax into the evening before an even colder start to the work week. Make sure that before you head to bed tonight that you prepare for the freeze likely to come Monday morning. This means you’ll need to bring pets inside and ensure that your plumbing is prepared for the even larger temperature drop.
MONDAY: Temperatures on Monday morning will be the coldest of this winter blast as they tumble to the teens and 20s. A light, northwest breeze will make these temperatures feel like the teens area-wide.
Monday is another day when you will need your thick jacket and layers to get out the door. With this cold snap, checking in on loved ones and neighbors is essential before we can crank the warmth back up.
Afternoon highs on Monday will be in the upper 30s and 40s with plenty of sunshine…
